France's Pasteur Institute confirms hantavirus strain matches known South American strain

France's Pasteur Institute has confirmed that the hantavirus strain detected in a French passenger from the MV Hondius cruise ship matches a known South American strain. No new characteristics have been found that would make the virus more severe.
